PRIVATE LESSON PRICES AND POLICIES 2010-11 

 

TERM: Fall term consists of 18 lessons taught from August 26, 2010 – January 6, 2011. Spring term consists of 18 lessons taught from January 13, 2011 – May 19, 2011. Summer term consists of 9 lessons taught from JuMay 26, 2011 – August 18, 2011.

 

FOUR-LESSON TRIAL PACKAGE: A four half-hour lesson trial package is available to new students for $80. Lesson payment and registration fee are due if the student decides to continue with lessons upon completion of the trial package.

           

TUITION: Rates are pro-rated proportionately for forty-five minute and one hour lessons. The following rates are per half-hour lesson:

            Full-term payment plan: $20.00

            Half-term payment plan: $21.00

            Quarter-term payment plan: $22.00

 

FULL-TERM PAYMENT PLAN: If paying at the beginning of a term a student may take advantage of the full-term payment plan rate. Fall and Spring terms are $360. Summer term is $180. Students enrolling late in the term or after a four-lesson trial package who wish to take advantage of this option must pay at enrollment for:

HALF-TERM PAYMENT PLAN: For an additional $1.00per half-hour lesson students may instead pay for the term in two installments. Fall and Spring terms are $189.00 per installment, and Summer term is $94.50 per installment. The first installment is made at the beginning of the term while the second is made midway through the term. Students enrolling late in the term or after a four-lesson trial package who wish to take advantage of this option must pay at enrollment for:

QUARTER-TERM PAYMENT PLAN: This plan is available only for Fall and Spring terms. For an additional $2.00 per half-hour lesson students may instead pay for the term in four installments. Fall and Spring terms are $99.00. The first installment is made at the beginning of the term while the remaining three installments will be made successively in four to five week intervals. Registration fee (if applicable) is due with the first payment. Students enrolling late in the term or after a four-lesson trial package who wish to take advantage of this option must pay at enrollment for:

LATE PAYMENTS: There will be a late fee of 5$ for every week payment is overdue. Failure to pay without prior notice will necessarily result in forfeiture of the student’s time slot. If late payment is unavoidable as a result of financial difficulties, then notification prior to the payment date will hold a student’s time slot.

 

ADDITIONAL COSTS: There are additional costs for books and music that are non-refundable.

 

PAYMENT METHODS: Checks, money orders, and cash are accepted. There is a $20 processing fee issued for all returned checks. If you wish to pay with cash, please bring exact change, as cash is not kept on site. If you do not have exact change, your change will be returned at your next lesson.

 

WITHDRAWALS: Students may withdraw at the end of a four-week trial session or the end of the term. Tuition is non-refundable except under extreme circumstances. Registration fees are non-refundable.

 

ATTENDANCE POLICY: Please choose your lesson time carefully, as only two makeup lessons per term are allowed. Lessons missed for non-emergencies (family vacation, soccer games, and other changes in schedule) will be made up only at the discretion of the instructor. Notify the instructor at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson time if you must miss a lesson. Call anytime. In case of medical emergency, call as soon as possible. Students arriving late for lessons will use only the remaining time left in the lesson.

In the event that the instructor must cancel a lesson, the student will be notified immediately. The lesson will be made up at a time convenient for both the student and instructor.

 

GENERAL POLICY: Parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends are encouraged to sit in on lessons if so desired. It is recommended for students 10 years of age and younger, and strongly recommended for children 6 years of age and younger, to have a parent present.

 

The instructor reserves the right to dismiss any student who cannot, or will not, maintain a reasonable standard of work, whose behavior and attitude are not conducive to learning, or in the case of late/nonpayment of tuition.
